Lunar Eclipse..........
Sept 28 - Not strictly wildlife, but an awe-inspiring total lunar eclipse in the early hours.......just an eerie orange-red disc visible as the earth's shadow covered the moon.......rising fog and the starry sky added to the experience. Worth setting the alarm for!

Tarifa - Strait of Gibraltar
10-14 Sept - A few days at Tarifa and as usual an impressive raptor migration at the watchpoints, with fantastic views of some low flying birds - Honey Buzzards, Booted and Short-toed Eagles, Black Kites, Black Storks, together with Hobby, Lesser Kestrel, Peregrine and Montagu's and Marsh Harriers. Bee-eaters, Alpine Swift and Red-rumped Swallows spiced up the mix. Waders on the beach included Barwits and Whimbrels as well as Kentish and Ringed Plovers, Sanderlings and superb Audouin's Gulls. Cory's Shearwaters moved through the straits early morning.
