5 Feb - Excellent views of the Bittern walking about on the ice (looking fairly hungry) at Coate Water from 4.15 til 4.50pm, when it climbed up into the reeds to roost. A Kingfisher also flew past. The lake largely iced over, and a very wintry sunset (1,2). Photos JM.
