1 Jan - A mild, bright day, then rain in the afternoon, and 63 species seen in a couple of hours in the morning and at midday, around the CWP. The highlights included - a smart male Smew (1) on pit 62, a calling Cetti's Warbler (2) and 2 calling Water Rails (3) at Shorncote, a total of 5 Little Egrets (4), a male Stonechat, and 6 wader species - Lapwing, Golden Plover, a fly through Ringed Plover,Curlew, Snipe and a Green Sandpiper.
