11 May - A female Capercaillie seen very well perched in a tree at the edge of Rothiemurchus Forest - an exceptional view of this elusive bird, photo copyright Steven Fallon ( I had left my zoom lens behind....). The forest also held singing Redstart, Tree Pipit and Cuckoo. A Peregrine flew over the Cairngorms, where 7 Dotterel were on the upper slopes of Braeriach, and a Ptarmigan also flew over.
