9 May - A walking trip to the Cairngorms, rather windy and showery conditions with some sun on the plateau. A low density of birds but a singing male Snow Bunting (1,2) near the summit of Ben Macdui and a trip of 5 newly arrived Dotterel (3,4) at around 4000ft. 3 Red Grouse seen (5,6) but, surprisingly, no Ptarmigan.
