5 June - A neurology course in Oxford have me a chance for an afternoon visit to Otmoor. 10 or so Hobbies giving excellent views feeding on dragonflies over the reserve - also a Kestrel, 4 Red Kites and 2 Buzzards. A Little Egret seen in flight. The Turtle Dove seen again, in the oaks along the bridle way. Redshanks very noisy along with Lapwings over the fields. 2 or 3 Hairy Dragonflies also seen. Surprisingly, a Grasshopper Warbler heard reeling briefly in the car park field in the heat of the day. Hobby photo JM.

Otmoor again......
