Gulls and Terns.....

6 April - A poor day weather-wise is often good for migration, and today was a case in point......much more windy and damp at Farmoor, but an immature Little Gull was feeding over F2 with other gulls, with its distinctive upperwing pattern and pinkish underparts, very elegant. At CWP I was alerted to the first 2 Common Terns of the season (1-3), on pit 74, also here 3 Goldeneye (4) flew past and c50 Golden Plover, mostly in summer plumage (5), flew over heading W. At pit 125/6 near Fairford, An early Black Tern was found this morning and was still present (6,7), along with a Ringed Plover and a LRP (8,9). Photos JM.
