Golden Eagle and Ptarmigan.....
9 Mar - first Scottish foray of the season to celebrate Jen's 50th birthday, and our wintry ascent of Gulvain (Munro no 130) was enlivened by not one but two good looks at a Golden Eagle - soaring and gliding with occasional powerful wing beats on distinctively long wing with obvious fingers, and the long projecting head. Also seen - 2 Ptarmigan that flew past in full glistening white winter plumage against a snowy backdrop. Red Deer stags were also much in evidence.
