Ring Ouzel at Liddington - and Warblers arriving....

6 April - A half hour visit before work was well rewarded as the male Ring Ouzel was still present, fairly elusive but seen perched briefly, and several times in flight, in the hedge on the S side of Liddington Hill. Blackish-brown with dull yellow bill, silvery primaries and the white chest crescent very obvious. Always an excellent bird to see, and probably en route to breed on a remote Munro somewhere.....
With such a fine evening I called briefly at Waterhay in CWP on the way home, and 2 Sedge Warblers were singing in the reedbed and scrub, along with 2 Willow Warblers and 3 Chiffchaffs.
