15 April - Another fine spring day, very dry conditions at present. A female Ring Ouzel was at Liddington on a brief morning visit, feeding on the grassy slopes and perching up calling.
In the evening, 2 male Wheatears (1) seen at Shorncote in CWP - also 4 Sedge and 3 Reed Warblers singing, along with 5 singing Reed Buntings (3). 5 Green Sandpipers flying and calling with 3 LRPs present. Few duck still left, but a pair of Shelduck (2) a female Shoveler and a pair of Teal seen. Grasshopper Warbler and Whitethroat were both heard along the Spine road.
A visit to the Purton recycling centre was enlivened by the first singing Lesser Whitethroat of the year.....
