Cairngorms 2



10 May - A walk up Bynack More in windy and showery conditions, very good views of several pairs of Ptarmigan on the upper slopes (photos, JM), also several Wheatears, and half a dozen Red Grouse on the lower heathery ground. A Common Sandpiper was on the river and a pair of Stonechats also seen, scarce this year after the harsh winter. Many Willow Warblers singing in the birch woods.
