Early morning at CWP 74 etc

6 May - An early morning visit to the private area of the scrape with Kim Milsom, and fairly quiet in terms of waders compared with recent days, with 2 Common Sandpipers, 2 LRPs, and 5 flyby Dunlin. 2 Black Terns and the drake Garganey finally gave good views (photo, copyright Sue Clayson). 2 Cetti's Warblers sang either side of pit 74.
Pit 301 held one each of 6 wader species - Oystercatcher, Redshank, Lapwing, LRP, Common Sandpiper and Dunlin.
After a family visit to Newbury I briefly stopped at Knighton in the evening, in cloudy and breezy conditions, and I heard a Cetti's Warbler and a Grasshopper Warbler.
